Asked by bhaskar

I am using Ubuntu 11.10 in my dell laptop. And recently i found that my laptop has been heating so much compared to windows operating system. And the heating mostly occured on touchpad area.
And i found that my laptop is taking very long time in order to boot. And why it is taking so much time to boot and why it has been heating to that much level.
OS: dual boot with windows 7 and ubuntu 11.10
desktop Ubuntu unity.

Thanks & Regards.

As one user there mentioned, BIOS settings for power management may have been specifically configured for Windows since most hardware still sells with MS preinstalled.

Maybe verify power management in BIOS first.

In case report a bug.
