Ubuntu 11.10 Oneiric hibernation

Asked by Tong Sun

Hi,

Finally Ubuntu starts to provide the hibernation support -- I just see it in the Ubuntu 11.10 Oneiric's menu.

Anyone knows how it works under the hood? -- I didn't do the official HD installation, but my own way.
Do we still need to change the boot parameter?

Thanks

It's supported all along but some hw doesn't get along with it, but hw evolved pretty much the last year.
Just to balance, never had an issue in years except one time a kernel update broke it. Also never needed to edit boot parameter.

Now I got it, knew there was something familiar to me. Question #130070
Back then unfortunately oversaw your last question, sorry, middle-click was working fine, although reverted it after a while however learned something new.
Sad to learn bug 663352 is still pending.
