Backlight issue at installation

I just bought a HP Pavilion g6-1190ev laptop but when i tried to install Ubuntu the installation screen was so dark i could hardly see it was there! Obviously I couldn't install Ubuntu so I installed windows 7 and tried to install Wubi but i got the same problem... Help please!

Hey,

I have a similar problem, after creating a CD Disk, I am unable to launch Ubuntu. None of my regular programs are able to open any of Ubuntu's files. Can you suggest the required file to use? That might be helpful, Thanks!
