RTL8188ce confilcts with LAN

I have a new Toshiba C655 laptop, and I installed Kubuntu 11.04, the problem is that when I connect the LAN port the wireless works great, if I disconnect the LAN the computer freezes up, I power off and reboot without the LAN connected and it freezes up again. I think the LAN driver is somehow connected to the wireless driver, can anyone tell me how to fix it?? This may be a bug in the RTL8188CE driver conflicting with the LAN driver.
