HP netbook only boots with ACPI off
I have installed Ubuntu 11 on an HP Mini 110-3627TU netbook. After doing some fixes to make the wireless work I can only boot up with ACPI=off. Im will not boot up with the normal version and It aslo has problems running fromn the USB. This disables many of the features that makes the netbook useful. Is there any way of fixing this, or alternatively, are there any other distros I can use intead of Ubuntu 11?

Hi
I am new to this business, so please be patient. Do you mean the logs in the
log viewer?
This is what I got in the system log when trying to log on on normally:
Jul 6 21:42:01 frodo kernel: Kernel logging (proc) stopped.
Jul 6 21:42:01 frodo rsyslogd: [origin software="rsyslogd"
swVersion="4.6.4" x-pid="422" x-info="http://
signal 15.
This is what seems to be in the kernel log:
Jul 6 21:42:01 frodo kernel: Kernel logging (proc) stopped.
I hope this is the right information, I apologise if I got this completely
wrong.
By the way, I love Ubuntu when it works on my netbook, but I only have
little experience with configuring operating systems
Thanks again for your help
Rainer
