Shutdown/Reboot logs

I'm currently having issues shutting down and rebooting without pressing the powerbutton. My machine is a Lenovo IdeaPad Y460 with i5 GPU and ATI HD 5650 switchable via ATI PowerXpress (although I'm currently using vgaswitcheroo to just turn off the ATI card on bootup)

I need to figure out where I can check the shutdown and reboot log as there definitely was errors.

you can have a look at /var/log/syslog and /var/log/daemon.log
