I have bought LENOVO laptop. Installed UBUNTU 10.4. touch pad is not supported. System is getting hanged during work

I have bought LENOVO laptop. Installed UBUNTU 10. Updated from ubuntu software archive. Touch pad is not supported. System is getting hanged during work. USB mouse is not also working properly. I have to work using key boards shortcuts. Give me some suggestion.

Yes I have tested my RAM.
The mouse and touch pad are working properly in both windows-XP as well s in WIndows 7.
I have installed win7 in the other partition of my HDD. In Win7 partition mouse is working properly, touch pad is also working properly. No prblm is there at all.
