Request for TI's dspbridge included in the next arm-omap ubuntu-netbook kernel complilation.

Asked by IovPizza

Please would you be so kind to include the next kernel modules compiled on Natty ubuntu-netbook?

As it's said in http://www.omappedia.com/wiki/DSPBridge_Project
   arch/arm/plat-omap/mailbox.ko
   arch/arm/mach-omap2/mailbox_mach.ko
   drivers/dsp/bridge/bridgedriver.ko

This feature enables MP4 and jpeg de/encoding on OMAP3 platform. Also it opens the door to easy DSP developing on OMAP platform.

Lots of thanks.

You should file a bug, to get that included. But if these modules (at least some version of them) are not already included in Natty, then they'll almost certainly not be included. Natty's feature freeze started quite some time ago; no new features are being added. In this case, you might try putting together (or seeing if someone will put together) a PPA with unofficial packages, and/or file a bug for it to be included in o-series (the next release after Natty).

If you need further help/advice filing a bug to request that this be included, please post again (in this question, not by starting a new one).

Can you help with this problem?
