modprobe: fatal: could not load lib/modules

Asked by MEGATOTZ

i get the following pop up during start up:

modprobe: FATAL: Could not load /lib/modules 2.6.35-24-generic/modules.dep: no such file or directory

after a short display of this error message (twice) ubuntu starts up and seems to work ok. the only problem i have at the moment is activating the webcam and recognising the digital camera in picasa, don't know if that has anything to do with it?

is there anything i need to do or check with regards to that error code?

thank you for your help and a happy new year.

Boot to root recovery mode (hold shift at boot, select recovery mode, select root) then run:

depmod -a; reboot

Fixes it good

Did you boot to the 2.6.35-24-generic kernel?

1- i did boot the recovery kernel.
2- if it is a bug, does it mean there is no fix?

If you attempt to boot to the older kernels, do you get a boot?
