Aspire one happy reported 4CPU

Asked by Waluyo Adi Siswanto

I have a new Aspire one happy (intel atom N550) and installed Ubuntu Netbook 10.10.
When I open the system monitor, I am very surprised that is is reported to have 4 CPU.
I don't think it has 4CPU, but why it is reported 4CPU.
Is that normal?
or do I have to set to have a proper number of CPU?
would it have an effect that because of this, the computer running slower?

It is reported correctly. The N550 uses "hyper-threading", which emulates two cores to the software per actual physical core.

Thanks, now I understand.
Another thing that I would like to know is whether my Ubuntu netbook has already optimised to use HT.
Is that by default, or I have to set the HT somewhere?

I have reaf here:

however I could not find menu.lst? I am running only Ubuntu Netbook (not dual OS)
