Can I (or someone) keep the linuxwacom module up to date?

Asked by Chuck Wilson

The linuxwacom module in Lucid/Maverick needs to be updated for newer tablets. The file in question is wacom.ko. Every time a kernel update happens, the module needs to be rebuilt from the linuxwacom source. Which is lame.

I wouldn't mind compiling it for all the different kernel patches/architectures/whatever, but I don't really know how to get it into the kernel images that are released. Any way I can do this? Is this something only core devs do?
