Sorry, took me a while. Still having problems; but of a different
sort. System did STANDBY okay. Previously, on restart it would flash a
hard drive light then just sit and spin the CPU fan. Now, it boots up
fine. However, none of the applications work. The window for, say, the
calculator comes up, but the calculator is blank; no controls. When I
told it to reboot, the shutdown timer came up with a blank face. It
did time out, and reboot.

On reboot, the system started a disk scan that failed and dropped to a
diag prompt. I rand FSCK and it found issues on the main partition.
There were numerous orphaned inodes, etc. I believe this occurred
because of the standby, and the graphics problems mentioned above are
symptoms.
