Same problem here. Unable to print my HP LaserJet 1100, which is connected to a Zonet ZPS3603 wired print server with static IP address. Initially after updating to the 2.6.24-19-generic kernel, I was able to print. As of this morning I could not print. Tried the workaround posted above by Eric Wick. And now I can print again.
