I found there will be a null pointer dereference issue when inserting the vimc module on a bare-metal system:

ubuntu@amaura:~$ sudo modprobe vimc
Killed

Bug 1840028.

Fix for Bionic has been tested with positive test result, next is Disco.
When it's done, the patch review can proceed.
