patch should be added to Ubuntu 18.04 kernel

is in upstream mainline:
$ git tag --contains a37cb07a30f0
v4.16-rc1
v4.16-rc2
v4.16-rc3
v4.16-rc4
v4.16-rc5

and should apply cleanly to 4.15
