no sound on toshiba satellite

Since I upgrade my edgy to feisty, sound has vanished and I don't know to solve that problem. An error message appears when I write commands in terminal :
ALSA lib pcm_dmix.c:864:(snd_pcm_dmix_open) unable to open slave"
 It's also amazing to see that sound still work when I boot on 2.6.17-10.
For information, my PC is a Toshiba satellite A110-294.
