Comment 142 for bug 84964

I have two systems with a JMicron-controller. First one has an Asus Commando motherboard, and it works perfectly as of 2.6.20-13.

The second one with Abit AB9 still does not work however. I get the same messages as apjaworski, i.e., it complains about a timeout with ata5 and not being able to set xfermode, then it retries two times and disables ata5. HOWEVER, ata5 corresponds to my primary hard disk, which is not connected to JMicron, rather it is connected to ICH8 SATA-port. So this may be a different bug altogether. Edgy works fine though, and so did Feisty with kernel 2.6.19-7 (IIRC).
