Dell Latitude 9510 sound card not detected

Asked by B

The sound card on Dell Latitude 9510 (Realtek ALC711-CG) is currently not detected using 5.10.0-1009.10 kernel. Are there some missing soundwire configurations in the current release?

You're using the kernel from the proposed kernel. These are not suggested for the average user.

If you switch the generic kernel, does the sound work OK there?

Thanks for your response. No, the driver is not in any generic kernel. but supposed to be available in 5.10. Based on the discussion below, it is a kernel option that needs to be enabled. It is reported to work in 5.10 shipped with Manjaro.

Ubuntu isn't Manjaro and different build options will give a different kernel.

Can you help with this problem?
