Can CONFIG_PERF_COUNTERS be configured on for 2.6.31 (karmic) kernel pacakages?

Asked by John Stultz

The new perf tool in 2.6.31 is really quite nice. It would be helpful if the Ubuntu kernel supported it.

See the link for details:

CONFIG_PERF_COUNTERS=y would need to be set to enable this.

I would have filed a bug on this, but for whatever reason, I can't seem to get launchpad to play along.
