can't install ubuntu because of broken linux-generic dependency in repo

Asked by Podkovirov Valentin

I found error when I try to install ubuntu on install linux-generic step

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
linux-headers-generic
linux-image-generic

As I found in repo archive.ubuntu.com there is no linux-headers-5.15.0-76-generic package which is one of the current subdependency of linux-generic package.

Details, please!

What are you attempting to do?
Is this a problem when you try installing Ubuntu, or during an update or upgrade?
Which Ubuntu release?
Which command or action leads to this situation?
What is the full error message that you receive?

What is the output of the following commands (to be executed in a terminal window):
uname -a
lsb_release -crid
apt policy linux-generic linux-headers-generic linux-image-generic

I'm not the original poster, but I suspect it's referring to this issue https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-meta/+bug/2025192

Yes, that most probably is a result of that bug.
As far as I can see, the developers are already working on a solution, see https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux below the heading "jammy", new version provided 1 hour ago

It may take a few hours until the packages are distributed to the mirror servers.

Can you help with this problem?
