utf8 support in linux-virtual-lts-xenial

Hi,
After installing linux-virtual-lts-xenial on a guest server (hyper-v 2012R2) utf8 is no longer supported in the os.
I installed linux-extra-virtual-lts-xenial which support utf8 but the integration services for hyper-v 2012R2 doesn't run properly (no online backup, ....)

Is there a way to add utf8 support in linux-virtual-lts-xenial ?

I specify, the guest OS is Ubuntu 14.04.

Does anyone have an answer?
