most of the time in the email it should give you a link to unsubscribe to any mailing list you opted into. It should say something like

"stop receiving emails from abc, unsubscribe, remove yourself from mailing list " etc etc

or you can contact the mailing list maintainer for further assistance.

May i ask what mailing list are you trying to unsubscribe from? i may be able to further help if you can give me the name of the site or mailing list.
