Ubuntu 18.04 to 20.04.1 upgrade I get error dpkg: error processing package linux-firmware (--configure)

I upgraded from 18.04 to Ubuntu 20.04.1 but get a firmware error how can I fix this? I can boot into the GUI and have network access but updates don't work due to the error)
