When will "linux-azure-edge" be available as "linux-azure"

Asked by PRISMA Computer GmbH

When will "linux-azure-edge" be available as "linux-azure"? Or, when will "linux-azure-edge" be marked as stable and available over the "normal" ubuntu repository without adding PPA "Canonical Kernel Team"?

Cheers

No, sorry. This is a question regarding the planned timeline, not a bug report. And, a bug is already reported.

linux-azure-edge is intended to be a preview of the next Azure-tuned kernel to come. The current plan is to have the same kernel as 18.10 in linux-azure-edge on 18.04 and 16.04 (probably 4.18) and for the edge kernels become the GA kernels soon after 18.10 is GA. Each kernel will undergo testing in Azure and in on-prem Hyper-V before promotion.
