Repository or manual upgrade to latest stable version

Asked by Qian

Hi, can someone make 2.16.1 available on repository or post detailed instructions for manual download and upgrade? Downloading from the site creates a home/bin/ which doesn't affect the running version.

Thanks.

Thanks :)

Glad the PPA helped

You can search PPAs using:

https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+ppas

Or if you use duckduckgo you can use:

!ppa packagename

and you can find PPAs for packages.

Now I'm noticing something weird. After following the instructions on the PPA, the command 'lilypond xyz.ly" runs version 2.16.1 but convert-ly printed 2.16.0 at the top of each .ly file. I don't think it produces errors, though.
