lightdm package

unable to install lightdm from tar file

I had a login loop problem.so I uninstalled the lightdm package from the cli mode but had some internet problems . So I somehow transferred tar file to my home directory and after extracting I ran autogen.sh but prompted me that I don't have Yelp tools. Also when I run configure I have config error saying Pam not found. Please help me to crack this.

LightDM comes with a default install. Did you install the desktop OS?
