how to preconfigure lightdm to prefere it before kdm and gdm

Hey folks. this is a question no one out there knows or has answered in a web articel or on askk ubuntu.

How to make sure that lightdm will be used regardless witch desktop package in ubuntus desktop environment cosmos is selected by the user

For example if I install Gnome or KDE how to make shure that the dpkg--reconfigure dialog is answerd so that lightdm wlii be selected automatically and the user will not be asked witch dm to use?

sudo sh -c 'echo "/usr/sbin/lightdm" > /etc/X11/default-display-manager'

Will set it in CLI. Not sure how to make the OS not ask. There may be a confirmation file for dpkg to set the DM. Maybe others can advise.
