Issues installing wacom bamboo pen on ubuntu 11.04

Asked by Refr

Greetings

I am trying to install the wacom bamboo tablet on ubuntu 11.04 using the code on sourceforge found here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/linuxwacom/files/

I have found partial instructions here: http://blog.brettalton.com/2010/08/28/how-to-install-the-wacom-bamboo-driver-in-ubuntu-10-04-lucid-lynx/

When I do the configure command I get an error that xrandr package is not found

When I run xrandr on the command line it resturns my monitors resolutions

Any and all help would be appreciated. I'd to have to run this on my wndows box. I got blender installed and working last night

Thanks!
-Rob

You probably need the package libxrandr-dev.

The dev package was found but the other libxrandr package was not found. Should it have been?

Log snippet....:

Selecting previously deselected package libxrandr-dev.
Unpacking libxrandr-dev (from .../libxrandr-dev_2%3a1.3.1-1ubuntu1_i386.deb) ...
Processing triggers for man-db ...
Setting up libxrender-dev (1:0.9.6-1ubuntu1) ...
Setting up libxrandr-dev (2:1.3.1-1ubuntu1) ...

Yeah, the binary package is libxrandr2. However, you almost certainly already have that installed.

If your problem is now solved, please come to https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libxrandr/+question/164259 and mark this question as Solved.
