Webapps in 12.04

Asked by Flavelle

I am hoping that there are plans to backport webapps into ubuntu 12.04. I tried ubuntu 12.10, but it's too unstable in my environment. I very much like the webapps application, however, and given that 12.04 is an LTS, it might make sense to have webapps available for that release.

Thanks,

Is there a question here?

Its not normal for Ubuntu to back-port new features unless it's a security or bug fix. You could install these applicationss if you want however from the deb files for quantal.

see here:

http://packages.ubuntu.com/

Don't add the Quantal repositories however that may break your system

There was a question, which was whether there were plans to backport webapps to 12.04. You were kind enough to answer ('no'). Thank you for the answer. Admittedly not what I was hoping to hear, but it certainly is reasonable. I have a system that is working very well, and I'm not comfortable that I could identify all of the correct items to install from Quantal, so I guess I live without the webapps.

Again, please accept my thanks for answering my question.
