what does mean use by another process

when i do update the error occurs like the dpkg use by another process

You have updates running or software centre open. If you do not then you can free the packages with:

sudo fuser -vki /var/lib/dpkg/lock;sudo dpkg --configure -a

Only ONE program can access the packages at one time, if the command / app crashes then it does not release the packages semaphore and you need to take extra action to free them up
