libsdp package

libsdp not available for Ubuntu 14.04

I notice that there is no pre-built package for libsdp (Sockets Direct Protocol) for 14.04.

I built it from source, but got unstable behavior when I tried using it on that platform. I followed these directions: https://pkg-ofed.alioth.debian.org/howto/infiniband-howto-7.html

What is the underlying issue? Can it be made to run on 14.04? Does it work without issue on other Ubuntu releases?
