Asked by waltro

When updating in 12.04 I get package system broken message.
Then:
python-uno: Depends: libreoffice-core (= 1:4.3.5~rc2-0ubuntu1~precise1) but 1:4.4.0~rc3-0ubuntu1~precise1 is installed
Depends: python (< 2.8) but 2.7.3-0ubuntu2.2 is installed

Please advise how I should resolve this situation.
Thanks.

If you are new to the OS, please don't add random PPAs you find on OmgUbuntu etc. They are not officially tested in your OS so can cause issues as you can see. Then you post on forums like this and make work for the community.

If you run:

sudo apt-get --purge remove libreoffice
sudo apt-get --purge autoremove
sudo apt-get clean
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install libreoffice

Does it install ok?

Then the PPA is in need of attention and you should contact the PPA maintainer to report the issue.

If you remove the PPA and install the Libreoffice from the official Ubuntu repository then it will install without issue.
