Why does text in the right-hand column always break on every character

Asked by Kevin O'Gorman

in LibreOffice writer, I have a table that acts weird. The right-hand column breaks entries on every character.
So I have questions:
1. what did I do to make this happen
2. how can I undo this without re-entering the table (which I will do anyway pending an answer, but I expect this to come up again).
3. Is it a bug?

The document is small, is in .odt format, and can be seen as http://kosmanor.com/~kevin/bug3.odt

I downloaded your file and opened it. I see what you mean. I copied the text 'win count' and pasted it into the right hand colomn with the '1' in it. Then deleted it and could typed as I pleased. Have you tried this?

You have set a right margin of 4,92 cm (1 15/16 ") on the paragraphs inside the table fields in the second column.
If you reset that to zero the strange line breaking is gone.

Interesting. FYI I'm quite sure that I did not set that by any normal interpretation, though it surely happened in the course of my attempting other things. I never tried fooling with margins at all; I suspect it happened while fooling with overall table dimensions.

Thanks for the fixes -- now I can get back to work.
