i've installed open clipart from ubuntu software center but i dont know how to open it from libreimpress

Can you give the output of:

lsb_release -a; uname -a; file /usr/lib/openoffice/basis3.2/share/gallery/clipart; apt-cache policy libreoffice

i am using libre office not open office by the way

Ok I just installed this and had a play, try this:

mv ~/.config/libreoffice/3/user/gallery ~/.config/libreoffice/3/user/gallery_old
ln -s /usr/share/openclipart/png ~/.config/libreoffice/3/user/gallery

Now run impress.

Insert -> Picture -> From file

Click to show previews and go nuts :)
