How to access LibreOffice files from MSOffice?

Asked by Navin Talati on 2012-08-28

File prepared in LibreOffice in Ubuntu is saved with .xls having some calculation formul and row/column links. When that is assessed through Win.7 , obviously it will be opened in MS Exell 2007 (or in MSOffice's Excell 2003 if WinXP is used etc.). It is observed that only simple data becomes readable but none of the linked/formula derived figures/data becomes readable. They gives errors.
I have heard that LO and MSO are inter-competeble. Then actually the file should get assessible through either of them, what ever may be the envirnment of its generation. My question is:
What is the method to open a file in MSO suite when it is prepared through LO ?
Does it require any additional plug-in's installation ?
Please guide.
Thanks in anticipation.

There may be an addon for MS Office to open the libreoffice files rather than trying to export them

There are only TWO addons just for spelling checks "libgtkspell-3-0" and "libgtkspell0".
Nothing more is found. Could you suggest?
