In formulas, matrices cannot include colors

Asked by Matrix Color

In LibreOffice writer, click Insert > Object > Formula

In the formula frame, enter the following:
[ matrix{ a # b ## c # red } ]
[ matrix{ a # b ## grue # bleen } ]

You will notice a question mark in place of the word red. Replacing red with any of black, white, green, yellow, blue, cyan, magenta will also give a question mark. Other words (including more obsure colors) work fine, as you can see from the grue/bleen example.

Matrix Color, thank you for taking the time to report this issue and helping to make Ubuntu better. Examining the information you have given us, this does not appear to be a bug report so we are closing it and converting it to a question in the support tracker. We understand the difficulties you are facing, but it is better to raise problems you are having in the support tracker at https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu if you are uncertain if they are bugs. You can also find a valid help posting your problem in the support forum of your local Ubuntu's community http://loco.ubuntu.com/ or asking at http://askubuntu.com. For help on reporting bugs, see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs .

As per http://help.libreoffice.org/Math/Attributes_2 , instead of:
[ matrix{ a # b ## c # red } ]

you would do:
[ matrix{ a # b ## c # color red x } ]

Please feel free to report any future bugs you may find.

Try

[ matrix{ a # b ## c # "red" } ]
[ matrix{ a # b ## "blue" # "green" } ]

i.e enclose colour words in quotes.

Tony
