what's more annoying is that the table tool strip pops up, or the outline one, when you move into a table. it can't be turned off. and when you want it to appear, it appears right over the text you're working on and it blocks everything. Arrrrrggggh!

So, when you say that "it can't be turned off", is this something that you know about the system or are you just a fellow frustrated user? IF it can't be turned off it is a horrible design flaw. I switched to linux to get away from the bloat. Are most users so slow that they need to be told at every turn what they've looked at before, over and over and over and over and...

I work in tables with many Chinese characters and pinyin with tone markings and "it" is always in my way. So much for productivity.

Is there anybody out there that knows why this is happening to us? But more to the point, can it be turned off?

There are probably a hundred names running down the right side of this page, somebody must know something.

OK, I blew it. I missed the post by actionparsnip. This seems to have solved the problem.

Sorry for the rant but it was driving me up the wall.
