how do I create a brochure?

Asked by Bernice P. Griska

I am trying to create a tri fold six sided brochure, on the first side, pages five, six and one,
on the second side, inside pages two three and four, so that when folded in three, using landscape view, will unfold
like a six page brochure. I also need to be able to import images and text.

All there is on libre office is a setting to print a brochure, not create.

So far I have created text boxes, but they aren't the same size, and typed in text.

Please help as soon as possible!!!!

Thank You,

Bernice

this is an open forum and you will get a response when someone who is familiar with the topic sees your questions and has the time to respond to it.

anyhoo, if you make brochures frequently, you will want to use scribus instead of libreoffice for this. it has templates for various things and is a layout/desktop publishing program. libreoffice is just a word processor.

Bernice,

I suggest you start by creating a two page document with 3 columns.

You might like to start with creating a page style for it. F11 will open Styles and Formatting. Click on the Page Styles icon. With the Page Styles showing, right click and select New. In the Page Style dialogue, set Format and Orientation on the Page tab and select three columns on the Columns tab, then click OK. You might want to adjust Borders and add some Spacing between Columns.

Then add your content into a document with this style. Remember you can always control the flow between columns with Insert > Manual Break > Column Break.

I'm sure you will have to experiment a bit with this to get the format right.

Hope it helps,

Tony

Bernice,

pls do/carry out in a terminal window cmd as follows

sudo apt-get install scribus

let the install finish then you'll find/can open the brochure editing application scribus in the dash.

does it help ? are you more comfortable with it ?

Can you help with this problem?
