French spell checker in libreoffice Writer

Thanks to all that responded to the special character question posted yesterday. My second related question is how to get the french spell checker to work in libreoffice Writer. I know it must be available from browsing and attempting to get the spell checker features to work for french. Alas, to no avail. Thanks for your support.

Hello,

Type a word in French and choose Tools/Language/More/Locale Settings and install the French Dictionary.
