11.04 + LibreOffice = problem with text on sheets, tabs, etc

Asked by Kmarz

Hello,

Since upgrading to 10.10 and subsequently to 11.04, my OpenOffice (now, obviously, LibreOffice), has a bug.

Basically, text in various tabs (as well as sheet names, row number, column number, etc. in Calc) disappear once that tab, sheet, etc, is selected. (text will also disappear if tabs in, say, LO Writer are selected).

For example, in Calc, when selected: a) the column header-letter (A,,B,C,D, etc) vanishes; b) the row number is missing; c) the text of the sheet (i.e. "Sheet1) is not visible.; d) the text in addition windows (e.g., Properties Tab) will vanish if selected, e.g., "General" is missing on the "general tab" of the "properties" window.

Also, this has nothing to do with text colour, etc. E.g. When selecting rows, columns: some of the rows (e.g., I can see rows 3-100) are highlighted; however, others are not (e.g., rows 1-2, etc.). So I think it is a bug.

I've posted this on Ubuntu Forums, with screenshots, and was told to report it as a bug here.

Ta.

Run:

ubuntu-but libreoffice

And it will start the process, this is not the bug section of Launchpad

Thanks... But I really can't be bothered (I tried running what you have asked me to do but, alas, it didn't work. Plus, there are so many bugs with 11.04, I'll be here all day. Worst version yet!)

But thanks for letting me about the bug report anyway.

Then it won't get fixed.....

Please mark as solved (if you can be bothered).

Remember, Natty has only been out less than a month, so old bugs will be around

Sorry mate, didn't mean to sound cynical. I'm just having a nightmare with 11.04 at the moment and really wish I hadn't upgraded :s

Will mark as solved now.

Plus, I've tried running the command "ubuntu-but libreoffice" both in terminal and "run application" but I get an error message...

Anyway, thanks for your help.

the command actionparsnip is suggesting is

ubuntu-bug libreoffice

anyhoo, if you can't be bothered, then you will have to put up with the problems you're facing.

anyhoo again, if you can be bothered, have you tried uninstall and re-installing openoffice/libreoffice?

also note that openoffice and libreoffice are now two different developments.

Ya, I get it Marcus. I apologised already for the "I can't be bothered" statement.

I know they are different developments; nevertheless, I had the problem both in OO and LO and, indeed, it is exactly the same problem.

Anyhoo, thanks for the help.

I've sent the report. Thanks actionparsnip and Marcus for the help and apologies for the abruptness of my earlier response.
