launching libreoffice calc opens and closes window again

Asked by Lorenz Giefing

I can start libreoffice calc and open a file.
But
Clicking on the file itself opens calc, then the window is closed immediately.
Within the static application switcher, I can see the open file, but I can't activate it.
The file is not listed within the panel of opened windows.
The process soffice.bin is sleeping.
It happens with all my .xls and .ods files only, but .doc or .odt are ok.
It happens within one user only!
It doesn't happen every time, approx. 90%
I used libreoffice on maverick, the problem started to happen with upgrade to natty.
Deinstallation and reinstallation with software-center didn't change anything.

Me too.
Went to a terminal window and typed

libreoffice -calc

Office came up. Told me it was recovering a file. I let it to whatever. Afterwards, the spread sheet works from the icon.

I worked out the BUG: its a FEATURE: libreoffice calc opens within a new workspace! I didn't recognise that because I removed the workplace-switcher from my panel...
