ok, i will try to look deeper into the logs... but as i said before, the remote cups server does not get any jobs submitted. i also forgot to tell that we disable local cups daemons and write remote server name in the /etc/cups/client.conf instead, just as original upstream bug description...

another detail is that i can actually open a document file and leave it open even for long time and the first print attempt will work correctly. if only after that first printing, i wait some time, the second printing does not work, neither from the "print directly" icon, nor from the file menu (but in contrast to the upstream bug report i can still see a list of all our institutional printers). i hope this clarifies the situation a bit...
