This still affects cups in precise. I've asked in #ubuntu-bugs for a precise task to be added, but in the meantime, here's a debdiff.

Patch is based on http://www.cups.org/strfiles.php/3164/str4187.patch from upstream STR#4817 (CUPS 1.6.2, released in raring) plus improvement from upstream git 80360a5e (CUPS 1.6.4, released in saucy), backported to precise.

I've had users at several sites running this patch in production for the last 3 weeks, with no regressions reported.
