When will librdkafka 1.9.2 be added ?

Asked by Noorul Islam K M

librdkafka 1.9.2 is released and it has some important enhancements and fixes. It will be great if we could get this into the Ubuntu Jammy repo.

Ubuntu is copying packages from Debian, and also Debian has not packaged the new version yet, see https://tracker.debian.org/pkg/librdkafka

If Debian create a package with the new version and when that version has proven to be stable enough, then Ubuntu will take it over into its development release (currently 22.10).
For the possibilities to bring a new version into an older Ubuntu release, see the FAQ linked above.

There may also be PPAs, see https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+ppas?name_filter=librdkafka for a list of potential candidates.
