Activate application upon clicking on notification?

Can someone confirm if it is possible to launch application upon clicking on notification generated by notify-send command?

That may seem obvious but I wasn't sure, and from specification at
freedesktop.org seems that it's not so simple even by using library and
maybe that's why not so many (I don't know any) applications providing
notify system use this feature.
