libmtp version 0.1.5 in feisty release -please?

Asked by jane

Hello,
I'm currently an edgy user, ogg-file player and an owner of an iriver clix....
I realise this is low priority for the community as a whole, but I'd *love* to see the feisty release feature the latest libmtp version (0.1.5) which will apparently fix all my woes (which currently are solved by using the iriver on my dodgy laptop running all kinds of incompatible bleeding edge things, but kept it this crashing state because my clean edgy machine can't yet talk to my iriver!)!
thanks for all your work in any case!
jane

This version of libmtp is still in the unstable branch of debian. Ubuntu strives for high stability, therefore it will probably not included before it is deemed stable.

I hope this helps

ah yes, it does, thats fine. Thanks for your answer.

still, it'll be a minor update that i'm sure i can figure out by hand so to speak, without hopefully doing really unstable things!

i suspect it may be too late for feisty as there is only two weeks left until the final release.

You may be able to get it through backports after feisty releases.

I think the comment that it wont hit ubuntu until it's stable in debian is somewhat misleading.

After feisty releases, the next release will be built from Debian unstable - which *will* include libmtp 0.1.5. So you can be sure there will be a .deb for it once that repository opens, whether the package is backported or not.
