ubuntu 10.10 keyring add password - field short

Asked by L Miller

This is in Ubuntu 10.10 updated to 11/07/13. In Applications > Accessories > Passwords and Encryption Keys > select (highlight) a keyring > File > New > Stored Passwords > Continue > choose which keyring (guess selecting it above was not necessary..) > Description field > enter the name.....

The Description field will not accept more than 32 (I believe) characters. That is not reasonable as nearly all of the entries showing in my keyrings are longer than that.

Your bug report will be much more useful to developers if you edit the description to provide all the necessary information for understanding and appreciating the bug you are reporting / feature you are requesting, rather than having it just refer to this question. (See also https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs.)

Also, while it's probably not strictly necessary in this case, it might be useful for you to automatically attach information about libgnome-keyring on your system (including version information) by opening a Terminal window and running "apport-collect 810533" (without the quotes). That should help to prevent any confusions that may otherwise arise about what version you are running and how it is configured.

Can you help with this problem?

Provide an answer of your own, or ask L Miller for more information if necessary.
