Ubuntu 10.04 - VLC and movie player won't run DVD's

Hi all,

very simply I can't get anything to run on my cd player on my laptop. I put in a DVD and it reads it, but when i get it to run in VLC - nothing happens, and when I use the ubuntu movie player I get error message that says "could not read from resource"

can anyone help me?

Hello,

To run DVDs you need to install the non-free codecs.
