I'm trying to play a dvd. I have installed the restricted software but the dvd still won't play. Help

I any using ubuntu 10.10 trying to play a dvd. I have followed the instructions in the help pages about installing restricted software but the movie will not play in Kplayer or movie player or RealPlayer. What am i doing wrong or am I missing something?
