libcap package is 22 versions behind HEAD

Asked by Andrew G. Morgan

I was wondering how I can help get the libcap package updated to something more recent? I've been helping other distributions, but Ubuntu is the most behind at this point.

Is there some schedule for the expected time frame for the next major release of Ubuntu? On I see this with respect to libcap-2.63 (2.66 is current):

2022-04-03 08:14 Project removed from Ubuntu 22.04 Proposed
2022-03-24 10:56 Project added to Ubuntu 22.04 Proposed

Is this indicative of some evaluation process? Is there a way to understand if the removal represents an unresolved problem I can help with?
